CRANKWORX
INNSBRUCK
This year the biggest Mountainbike event series "CRANKWORX" had taken place in Innsbruck from 21-25 June. Short description: Take the best riders from all over the world and let them show whats possible on a bike.
I get the chance and visited the "Slopestyle" event on Saturday. If you come to the venue and see the earth and jumping hills, you can't image what the riders should do with it. After you have seen the first one you have another proof what is all possible with talent and hard work. I guess most of them are higher in the air than I ever jumped into water.
Note: even if it's hard to imagine but all riders on the following photos were able to land on/with their bikes safely.
Fujifilm X-Pro2 for Action
Action photos are really not the thing what I want to do with my photography, but this event was a good opportunity to test the Fujifilm X-Pro 2 in this genre. I haven't done any big preparation, took only the cam with the kit objective 18-55 and set it up to continuous focusing/shooting.
For the very amateurish approach I would say that the cam did a very good job. At home I cropped most of the images because with this this lens I was not able to get close enough to the racers and it's not always easy to follow the quick riders.
The event was around lunchtime, in general not the best time to take photos.
